This episode’s topic, in a nutshell…

Our guest today, Colin Kingsmill, has a story of finding peace through making peace with his past.

Colin is the co-founder of Whole Human Coaching and a strategic advisor to Kaylo, a new platform for health, healing and transformation. He is the owner of Colin Kingsmill Coaching (individuals) and has a new book in the works – Fear Less: Crossing the Bridge from Fear to Bliss. Colin describes his story as “My whole life was looked at through this lens of unworthiness.”

Though Colins childhood and work reflected one of what some may call a dream life, he takes us through the struggles and lack of fulfillment he faced. Having traveled far and wide, being immersed in diverse cultures and encountering people from all walks of life, he gained a unique perspective and a profound understanding of the world and the people in it.

After discovering letters that unlocked some childhood trauma Colin experienced in his early years, he began to realize how he had carried this trauma with him as he navigated through life.

Colin has now come to realize that his true happiness lay in returning home, where her journey had begun. Now, having found solace in his roots, he has channeled his hard-earned wisdom and life experiences into building a fulfilling and successful life for himself.

Today, Colin stands as a testament to the power of healing, personal growth, and the resilient human spirit. Through his triumph over adversity and his global adventures, he has emerged stronger and wiser, bringing newfound success to not only himself, but also to others in his path. His journey is one of finding himself and learning to find validation in himself.

CORRECTION: We mentioned in the podcast the book The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel van der Kolk M.D.

We made a mistake in who authored that book. Nonetheless, this is a phenomenal book and is highly recommended for anyone who wants to understand trauma and the effects it has on the brain.
